I was interested in what you had, but nothing there quite met my needs. The closest thing I’ve found are some apps from factorlab. Looks really cool, but it also seems like they aren’t quite done with setting everything up yet. Seems like a cool thing to keep your eye out for, and the Grow by Factorlab app is pretty sweet.

By: Content Strategist piece re wearable tech begs question: Is it more significant for reporters than consumers? | Newsplexer https://blog.webjournalist.org/robert-hernandez-bio/#comment-26999 Tue, 21 Oct 2014 14:52:59 +0000 http://blog.webjournalist.org/?page_id=2#comment-26999 […] Robert Hernandez, an associate professor at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism,… is interested in contextual storytelling, which takes advantage of the ability of devices to know the time of day, the user’s location, and, in the case of Google Glass, what the user can see. This will allow reporters to create stories that are relevant to a specific time and place. “How can these screens be windows into another layer?” Hernandez asked. Augmented reality could provide that window, enhancing real-life experiences. […]

I’ve just sent you an email about a crazy little idea I am working on. It’s about building a bridge between the people of this world and the newsrooms of broadcasters. I really hope you are willing to read through the story and hope you get excited about it. If you could give me any form of feedback I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Lea, I am truly honored and excited to speak at JACC. It was my first journalism conference I ever attended. It’s a talk nearly 20 years in the making!

By: 2014 State Convention Keynote Speaker Robert Hernandez | Journalism Association of Community Colleges https://blog.webjournalist.org/robert-hernandez-bio/#comment-12185 Fri, 07 Feb 2014 17:21:54 +0000 http://blog.webjournalist.org/?page_id=2#comment-12185 […] Robert Hernandez, aka WebJournalist, has made a name for himself as a journalist of the Web, not just on the Web. His primary focus is exploring and developing the intersection of technology and journalism – to empower people, inform reporting and storytelling, engage community, improve distribution and, whenever possible, enhance revenue. He is an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice at USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, but he’s not an academic… he’s more of a “hackademic” and specializes in “MacGyvering” Web journalism solutions. He has worked for seattletimes.com, SFGate.com, eXaminer.com, La Prensa Gráfica, among others. Hernandez is also the co-founder of #wjchat and creator of Learn Code for Journalism with Me project. He is currently serving on the Online News Association board and a lifetime member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. He has Glass, but is not a Glasshole. b-) – See more at: http://blog.webjournalist.org/about/#sthash.8gqwAfV9.dpuf […]
