NOTE: I quickly wrote up this post right before a flight and haven’t really copyedited yet. <\/em><\/p>\n Diversity and inclusion is a challenge that often feels like an overwhelming problem that we, as individuals, don\u2019t seem to have the influence or resources to tackle. <\/p>\n We commonly say \u201cI\u2019m not hiring\u201d or \u201cI don\u2019t have money to make an impact\u201d and all these may be true. <\/p>\n But, as SXSW opens PanelPicker<\/a>, CES calls for speakers<\/a>, and conferences like NAHJ18<\/a> and ONA18<\/a> are quickly approaching, I wanted to share some practical things YOU can do to make a difference.<\/p>\n I have done each of these \u2013 multiple times for years. I have no money. I have a kid to fund. I am not hiring anyone. But these simple ways can have large impact. <\/p>\n If you truly care about inclusion and diversity in our industry \u2013 or any other industry \u2013 try a few of these tips to help make a real impact. <\/p>\n Please let me know if you have other tips and if you have done these too.
